AI Overviews do not appear for every search. Whether a generated answer appears and which sources it contains must be recorded for the particular run. Permanent inclusion for every relevant question cannot be promised.
Context and scope
Google specifies the usual SEO eligibility requirements: the page must be indexed and eligible for a snippet. Also check inclusion in generative search features in Search Console. There is no special GEO schema or required llms.txt file.
A clear passage, subject expertise and current information are useful quality goals. They do not establish a general rule that a particular passage will be preferred as a citation. A featured snippet and an AI Overview source are different observations.
Local information can matter to local questions. We do not claim a blanket structural AI Overview advantage from a .ch domain or Swiss UID without comparable evidence. SOURCE/01 records visible brands, links, search context and factual discrepancies.
A worksheet for a local search question
Hypothetical check: “How do I choose an office cleaning company in Lucerne?” is searched in German with the region recorded. If no AI Overview appears, the record says so. An empty source list is not treated as proof of poor content. If an answer appears, each visible source link is checked.

How to apply this
- Record the exact query, language, region and time.
- Check indexing and snippet eligibility of the target page.
- Save visible sources and read them in the context of the answer.
- Review repeated runs without treating individual answers as a fixed ranking.
