Knowledge Base & FAQ

Transparent answers regarding processes, technology, pricing, and security.

How does a project at GlasBox work?
We work efficiently and transparently in 3 phases:
  1. Briefing (30 Min.): Free initial consultation. You describe the problem, we analyze the technical feasibility and create a fixed-price quote.
  2. Engineering (3–8 Weeks): Development with clean code. We work in sprints. You receive regular updates and speak directly with the developer.
  3. Launch & Handover: Go-live on Swiss servers. You receive training (e.g., for the CMS) and full code ownership rights.
What makes GlasBox different from a traditional agency?
We are an engineering studio, not purely a marketing agency.
  • No Overhead: You speak directly with the software engineer. No account managers playing telephone.
  • Tech-First: We build custom-tailored software, not pre-assembled templates.
  • Focus: Swiss quality, scoped performance targets, and data-flow-aware FADP delivery.
Do you offer maintenance contracts (SLAs)?
Because we don't use error-prone site builders, our core websites often don't require expensive, monthly security updates. For complex applications (SaaS) or continuous SEO support, we offer optional Service Level Agreements (SLAs). However, an SLA is not contractually required.
How much does a website, app, or AI integration cost?
Our prices are transparent and based on scope:
  • Websites (High-Speed Landing Pages): from CHF 3'780
  • Web Applications & SaaS: from CHF 15'000
  • Mobile Apps (PWA/Native): from CHF 6'500
  • AI Assistants (RAG prototype): from CHF 4'900
  • API / Workflow Automation: from CHF 1'800
Every project receives a binding fixed price after the initial consultation.
Who owns the code and design?
You do. Ownership and usage rights are defined contractually and transfer after full payment according to the agreed scope. We work for exit resilience: code, access and documentation are prepared so you can operate the platform yourself or have it developed further by another team where included in the project scope. Details can be found in our Terms & Conditions.
What are the payment terms?
Invoices are payable net within 10 days. To ensure mutual security, we require a deposit for projects over CHF 3'000 (typically 30% to 50% before project start).
Is my data stored in Switzerland (FADP)?
By default, we host on ISO-certified servers in Switzerland (Infomaniak) and follow a Swiss-first hosting strategy with a project-specific data-flow review. Delivery is FADP/nDSG-aware and privacy-by-design; where external tools (e.g. analytics or AI services) are part of a project, their data flows are named and reviewed explicitly.
Is there a warranty on the developed software?
Yes. According to our Terms (§5.2), we provide a warranty period of 6 months from acceptance for software errors (bugs) attributable to our code. Excluded are errors caused by subsequent updates from external third parties (e.g., browser updates or external API changes).
Who is liable for the content (images, texts) on the website?
According to our Terms (§3.1), the responsibility for the legal compliance (copyright, trademark law) of the content, texts, and images provided by you lies entirely with you as the client.
Why don't you use WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace?
Plugin-heavy site builders can become slow, maintenance-intensive and harder to secure at scale. We develop digital assets using modern frameworks like React, Next.js, and Astro.

The result: clear performance budgets, project-defined security controls and strong design freedom. Learn more about our Web Stack.
Can I update my texts and images myself after launch?
Yes, absolutely. We integrate a so-called Headless CMS (e.g., Sanity). You receive a modern, intuitive dashboard that is as easy to use as Microsoft Word. The difference: the CMS is strictly separated from the code, ensuring you cannot accidentally break the site's design.
PWA (Web App) or Native App (iOS/Android) – what do I need?
It depends on the use case:
  • PWA (Progressive Web App): Often a strong fit for B2B dashboards and portals. It runs directly in the browser but can be saved to the homescreen (without the App Store). More cost-effective to develop.
  • Native App: Required if you need deep hardware functions (Bluetooth, complex camera filters) or seek maximum visibility in the App Stores (Apple/Google).
We develop both from a Single Codebase (React Native), saving time and money.
What is the difference between Astro and Next.js in your stack?
We use Astro for marketing websites and landing pages. It generates static HTML with minimal client-side JavaScript, giving us a strong base for performance budgets, Core Web Vitals work and technical SEO.

We use Next.js for complex web applications and SaaS platforms (dashboards, portals), where dynamic user interactions, logins, and real-time data are the focus.
Do PWAs (Web Apps) also work on the iPhone?
Yes. Apple has significantly improved its support for PWAs. Since iOS 16.4, web push notifications are also supported on the iPhone. A PWA can be added directly to the homescreen via the Safari browser and behaves like a native app – completely without an App Store download.
Can you take over existing websites (e.g., WordPress)?
No. We do not take over existing WordPress, Wix, or Typo3 projects for pure maintenance. We exclusively offer new developments (relaunches) on our modern, performant tech stack. However, we can securely migrate your existing content and SEO rankings.
Can you guarantee a #1 ranking on Google?
No, and any agency that does is operating unprofessionally. Google's algorithms are beyond our control.

What we commit to: A technically strong foundation for crawling, indexing, Core Web Vitals, structured data and decision-oriented content. SEO results depend on competition, authority, content quality and market demand.
We already have a website. Can you just handle the SEO?
Yes. In this case, we start with a Technical Growth Audit. We analyze your existing infrastructure (code, speed, backlinks) and fix technical bottlenecks. Afterward, we build a tailored content and local SEO strategy.
Will I lose my Google ranking during a relaunch?
A professionally managed relaunch reduces that risk. We create a URL mapping strategy (301 redirects) before launch, transfer existing metadata and monitor Search Console signals after go-live.
How long does it take to see SEO results?
Technical SEO fixes (such as load time optimization or clean indexing) often show the first positive signals in Google Search Console after 2 to 4 weeks. Organic growth through new content strategies and authority building usually takes 3 to 6 months before business impact can be assessed reliably.
Do you also write the SEO copy for our website?
We provide the technical SEO architecture, keyword strategy, and content structure (content briefings). Ideally, drafting the final specialized texts is up to you, as you are the expert in your industry. If needed, however, we can tap into our network of specialized Swiss copywriters.
What are Core Web Vitals (CWV) and why are they important?
Core Web Vitals are Google's official metrics for user experience (load time, interactivity, visual stability). They are part of Google's page experience signals. New websites are built with a performance budget and tested before launch; exact LCP, CLS and INP targets depend on scope, infrastructure, content and third-party services.
Is our internal company data secure when using your AI?
Security controls are defined per project scope. We build RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems with explicit architectural rules:
  • Company documents can be stored on Swiss infrastructure where this is part of the selected architecture.
  • Provider data processing depends on the selected model, contract and project setup; zero-training options are reviewed where relevant.
  • Critical data can be masked or excluded before it is sent to an LLM, depending on the risk profile.
Does my SME really need Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial intelligence is not an end in itself, but a tool for increasing efficiency. A Smart Assistant can pre-qualify website enquiries outside office hours. Internal AI assistants can draft summaries of long documents, but important legal, financial or sensitive decisions require human review.
Which systems and software can you integrate?
We can connect almost any system that has a modern API (REST / GraphQL). Our standards include Swiss tools like Bexio, Abacus, Twint, and PostFinance, as well as international systems like HubSpot, Salesforce, Shopify, Stripe, or Mailchimp. We automate this via low-code (Make.com) or write performant custom middleware.
What exactly is a RAG system?
RAG stands for Retrieval-Augmented Generation. It is an architecture that connects a language model with approved company context (e.g., PDF manuals, contracts, intranet). RAG reduces hallucination risk and improves traceability by retrieving approved sources before answering. AI output remains probabilistic and should be reviewed for important decisions.
Can the AI also read images, contracts, or invoices?
Yes. Modern AI models possess "vision" capabilities (multimodality). We can build systems that extract and structure information from scanned documents, handwritten notes, or photos of damage reports before handing it to your ERP system (e.g., Abacus or Bexio), with validation where the process requires it.
What happens if an external interface (API) goes down?
We design integrations to reduce data-loss and duplication risk. For custom middleware, we can use queues, Dead Letter Queues, validation and exponential backoff. If, for example, the CRM (HubSpot) is briefly unreachable, the failure is logged and the system can support controlled retries or manual review.
How do you secure webhooks and API connections?
Security controls are defined per integration. Common measures include OAuth2 for authentication, encryption in transit and HMAC signatures where the provider supports them. Webhook signatures help verify sender authenticity and reduce spoofing risk.
