A list of supposedly secret AI ranking factors is not useful when its claims cannot be tested. GlasBox uses five diagnostic areas: understandable core content, consistent company information, independent evidence, technical access and freshness. This is our working model, not a platform’s published ranking formula.
Context and scope
Each area needs specific evidence. Check a passage for its statement, a company detail against reliable sources and an external reference for actual independence. Technical access and freshness can be checked against a URL and date.
A tool score can combine signals, but its weighting needs disclosure. Schema alone is insufficient and should match visible facts. Independent mentions are not a general prerequisite for every possible brand mention either.
SOURCE/01 organises findings across search, AI answers and company information. Improvements receive an owner and acceptance criteria. Any subsequent change in citations is observed separately.
Five areas, each with a checkable piece of evidence
The table is a working template, not a set of results for a particular website. Use at least one concrete URL or saved test run in each row. “Good” or “bad” without evidence is insufficient for prioritising work.
| Review point | Example / subject | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · Core content | Understandable service, audience and conditions | Approved paragraph with its exact URL. |
| 2 · Company information | Name, location and offer agree | Comparison of imprint and business profile. |
| 3 · Independent evidence | Identifiable author, date and responsibility | Relevant third-party source and supported claim. |
| 4 · Access | Complete page with the correct status | HTTP response and browser check. |
| 5 · Freshness | Outdated prices and services corrected | Review date and documented change. |
How to apply this
- Describe each area before assigning a score.
- Record evidence and open questions together.
- Agree priorities based on customer impact and effort.
- Use tool scores as additional guidance only when their method is known.
